Consideration for Human Rights

At Toyo Gosei, we believe that respecting the innate right of all people to live a dignified life stands at the core of our social responsibilities, and that respect for human rights is an important foundation for all our business activities. With this in mind, we established the Toyo Gosei Co., Ltd. Human Rights Policy as our highest policy regarding human rights, based on our Management Policy and Behavioral Guidelines. Because our business activities are based on relationships of trust with our stakeholders, all officers and employees (including full-time, contract, part-time, and temporary employees) must comply with this policy. We will continue to conduct business activities that meet the expectations of all business partners, including partner companies, customers, suppliers, and vendors, who are involved in our operations, products, and services, in order to fulfill our responsibilities regarding human rights.
Action Structure
Our human resources, procurement, and General Affairs and Legal departments work together to advance human rights initiatives across the company based on our Human Rights Policy.
Going forward, we will further implement human rights due diligence and continuously review our strategies and measures by monitoring social trends and changes in legal systems and regulations that affect our corporate strategies, managing the progress of our measures, and evaluating future risks and opportunities. In this manner, we will work to prevent and minimize any adverse impacts on human rights in our business activities.
Raising Awareness of Human Rights
In FY2024, we conducted human rights and compliance training for all employees, including our officers, to deepen their understanding of human rights, which means respecting and valuing people, with all employees (participation rate: 100%) attending. In moral training for managers and general employees, messages about "valuing people" were conveyed by officers, division managers, plant managers, and business location managers, and practical training using role-playing provided an opportunity for employees to experience human feelings.
Initiatives for Suppliers
Our CSR Procurement Guidelines include provisions related to human rights and we request that our suppliers comply with them. We also conduct surveys of our suppliers regarding their compliance with these guidelines.
CSR Procurement Guidelines (excerpt)
4:Respect for human rights and sound labor environment- Prohibit forced labor and child labor.
- 2. Pay the minimum wage and overtime pay prescribed by law.
- Comply with statutory working hours and grant the right to annual paid leave.
- Do not discriminate on the basis of race, age, sex, gender, nationality, etc.
- Provide a safe and clean working environment and manage the health of our employees.
Prohibition of Forced Labor and Child Labor
Based on international human rights standards such as the International Bill of Human Rights and the International Labour Organization's (ILO) Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work, our human rights policy clearly states that we do not engage in any form of forced labor or child labor. We take effective measures to address this issue by requiring employees to agree to employment conditions at the time of joining the company, submitting official documentation that can verify their age, and monitoring long working hours using an attendance system.
Relief and Corrective Measures
人In the event that a human rights violation has occurred or the possibility of such a violation arises, we have established a system for reporting and consulting through our internal compliance and harassment consultation desks and internal reporting lines. In addition, we established a consultation desk for suppliers, including on human rights, in 2025. Upon receiving a report or consultation, we verify the facts of incidents related to human rights violations, and if a human rights violation is confirmed, we have a system in place to respond appropriately and implement measures to prevent recurrence.
