Policy for Human Rights
At Toyo Gosei, we believe that respecting the innate right of all people to live a dignified life stands at the core of our social responsibilities, and that respect for human rights is an important foundation for all our business activities. With this in mind, we established the Toyo Gosei Co., Ltd. Human Rights Policy as our highest policy regarding human rights, based on our Management Policy and Behavioral Guidelines. Because our business activities are based on relationships of trust with our stakeholders, all officers and employees (including full-time, contract, part-time, and temporary employees) must comply with this policy. We will continue to conduct business activities that meet the expectations of all business partners, including partner companies, customers, suppliers, and vendors, who are involved in our operations, products, and services, in order to fulfill our responsibilities regarding human rights.
1.Positioning
This policy serves as the highest-level policy on human rights at Toyo Gosei Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Toyo Gosei"), based on its Management Philosophy, Management Policy, and Code of Conduct, and forms the foundation of all business activities.
2.Basic Approach and Stance
Toyo Gosei recognizes that respect for human rights is a fundamental foundation of all business activities and places people at the center of its operations. Accordingly, the Company supports internationally recognized human rights standards, including the International Bill of Human Rights and the ILO Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work of the International Labour Organization (ILO).
Based on the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, Toyo Gosei promotes initiatives to respect human rights and fulfills its responsibilities with respect to human rights toward stakeholders associated with the Company, including employees, employees of partner companies, and local communities, while engaging in ongoing dialogue with them.
3.Scope of Application
This policy sets forth Toyo Gosei's commitment to respecting human rights and applies to all officers and employees of the Company, including all full-time, contract, part-time, and temporary employees.
Toyo Gosei also expects all business partners related to its operations, products, and services--including partner companies, customers, suppliers, and other trading partners--to understand and support this policy.
4.Compliance with Laws and Regulations
Toyo Gosei complies with the laws and regulations applicable in the countries and regions where it conducts business activities.
In cases where there are conflicts between local laws and internationally recognized human rights, the Company will seek ways to respect international human rights standards to the greatest extent possible.
5.Respect for Human Rights
Toyo Gosei respects diversity.
The Company does not engage in discrimination or any form of harassment based on gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, ethnicity, nationality, race, language, religion, beliefs, ideology, social status, family background, place of origin, property, physical characteristics, illness, or disability. Toyo Gosei strives to create a safe and secure workplace environment in which diverse individuals can work with enthusiasm and grow.
In addition, the Company respects freedom of association and the right to collective bargaining, and does not engage in any form of forced labor or child labor.
6.Initiatives to Respect Human Rights
By promoting respect for human rights and diversity, Toyo Gosei seeks to maximize the value of its human resources and achieve sustainable growth in corporate value.
In the event that the Company's business activities are found to have caused or contributed to adverse impacts on human rights, Toyo Gosei will provide appropriate remedies and corrective actions through proper procedures and will work to prevent recurrence.
7.Education
Toyo Gosei provides appropriate education and training to all officers and employees to ensure that this policy is embedded in all business activities and effectively implemented.
8.Disclosure of Information
Toyo Gosei will appropriately disclose information regarding its initiatives to respect human rights based on this policy.

The Meaning Behind Our Company Name
「With the aspiration to launch businesses that contribute globally from Asia, grounded in chemical synthesis technology」
In the period of postwar reconstruction, Japan, despite its limited natural resources, sought to foster industries capable of creating added value by leveraging its position as a trading nation, aiming to develop as a science and technology-driven country.
The company name "Toyo Gosei Co., Ltd." was adopted in 1961, seven years after its founding, as the business expanded, replacing its former name, Nippon Acetylene Chemical Industry Co., Ltd.
The term "synthesis" refers to the process of creating a more complex compound "C" through chemical reactions from relatively simple compounds "A" and "B." The current company name reflects Toyo Gosei's desire to create new value through scientific synthesis technologies and to contribute to the world as a leading company from Asia.
Since then, for more than half a century, Toyo Gosei has continued to grow globally as a company that creates new value from an original and innovative perspective.
