In-house Project Team Organizes The Company Special Day, a sports competition sponsored by The Company

東洋合成スペシャルデイ In 2022, The Company signed an official sponsorship contract with the Chiba Lotte Marines of the Pacific League of Nippon Professional Baseball in an effort to actively engage in revitalizing the local community through sports and engagement with local residents. The Toyo Gosei Special Day, the name given to the Chiba Lotte Marines game we sponsor at ZOZO Marine Stadium, is now in its third year. The number of volunteer project members within the company has increased every year, with 96 people participating in the event in FY2024, planning and running unique side events such as strike zone challenge and quiz gacha. Many visitors participated on the day and we were able to interact with local residents and liven up the stadium. Going forward, we will continue to engage in community-based activities as a member of the local community.

Held Dream Class as part of Career Education at a Local Junior High School

地元中学校キャリア教育 夢授業の実施 Employees of Chiba Plant took part in the career education conducted for first and second year students at Tonosho Junior High School in Tonosho Town. This initiative is based on the idea that local talent should be developed locally, with local professionals from a variety of occupations serving as lecturers. The aim is to provide the junior high school students an opportunity to think about their future careers as well as to rediscover the appeal of their hometown, Tonosho Town. Two employees from our plant and quality assurance department gave presentations, explaining the rewards and roles of their jobs.

This was my first time giving a presentation to junior high school students. Seeing them listen intently made me realize how wonderful the students at Tonosho Junior High School are. There were many sophisticated questions during the Q&A session, which made me feel they have a promising future, and I'm excited to think about the possibility of working with them in the future. I hope to continue to cherish my connections with the local community.

Awaji Plant Hosts Tour for Local Elementary School Students

淡路工場での小学生工場見学 We invited about 25 sixth graders from Tsunahigashi Elementary School in Awaji City to participate in a science experiment and plant tour. They had the opportunity to try out a variety of activities, including flattening balloons using liquid nitrogen, freezing soap bubbles, and restoring letters written with an erasable pen. Afterwards, on the plant tour, they enjoyed the view from the rooftop, 17 meters above ground, took commemorative photos, and all flew paper airplanes together. The Awaji Plant will continue to strive to be deeply rooted in the local community.

There are concerns recently that children are turning away from science, so we wanted to encourage them to take an interest in it, even if only a little. This marked our third time holding this event as a way to contribute to the local community. We had fun conducting experiments with the children and I feel they realized how interesting science can be. The letters of thanks we received from the children afterwards also motivate plant employees.

Thanksgiving Festival Held to Express Gratitude to Families on Our 70th Anniversary.

淡路工場での小学生工場見学 To mark the milestone of our 70th anniversary, we held a Thanksgiving Festival, inviting employees' families to each of our plants, chemical tank terminal, research center, and head office. We planned tours of our business locations and social events that took advantage of the unique characteristics of each location, providing an opportunity for families to learn about workplaces and the work performed there and to feel closer to the company. A total of 1,274 people participated and many were highly satisfied, as the event received a score of 4.4 points (out of 5). Our employees' families are important members of the local community, and deepening their understanding and familiarity with our corporate activities will further promote symbiosis with the community. We will continue to foster relationships of mutual support between our employees, their families, and the community, moving forward as a company rooted in the community.

Participation in Local Shrine Summer Festival (Awaji Plant)

Participation in Local Shrine Summer Festival A summer festival was held at Kamo Shrine in Awaji City, where the Awaji Plant set up a super ball scooping booth. In addition to super balls, a variety of prizes such as toy ducks, goldfish, and colorful light-up toys were prepared, making the event very popular among children. Although food stalls and movie screenings on a large screen were also held, the super ball scooping booth was especially popular, with a continuous line from start to finish and approximately 150 children enjoying the activity.

With the slogan "From Tohnosho to the World," the Chiba Plant not only supplies products worldwide but also supports students who will shape the future so that they can spread their wings from Tohnosho to the global stage. In particular, the commemorative book cards presented to graduating junior high school students have become a cherished tradition, and we are pleased to hear that students look forward to them each year.
