In the mid 1970's, we focused on the semiconductor industry and started basic research on photosensitive compounds for photoresist used in semiconductor circuit formation. In 1981, we commercialized the positive-type photosensitive material (PAC) and the negative-type photosensitive material.
Furthermore, in response to the fine structure processing of semiconductors, since 1997 we have been producing and selling "photo acid generators (PAGs) for chemically amplified resists" and "polymers for chemically amplified resists". Also, in 2000, "Positive Photosensitive Materials (PAC)" began to be used in large quantities in the manufacture of panels for LCD TVs, expanding the field of business.
According to the increasing degree of integration of semiconductors, the fine structure processing to create smaller circuits will use shorter wavelength ArF immersion lithography, and further technological innovation will start the era of EUV exposure.
