Company history

1954

Company established under the trade name of Nihon Acetylene Chemical Engineering Co., Ltd.(capital: One million yen) at 3-13 Edogawa, Edogawa-ku, Tokyo, for the purpose of the manufacture and refining of medicinal chemicals such as anesthetic drug (Ethylene trichloride, Barium chlorate Establish the headquarters in the factory.

1954 Founded in Imai, Edogawa-ku, Tokyo
1956 Headquarters moved to Komatsugawa, Edogawa-ku, Tokyo

1961

Corporate name changed to Toyo Gosei Co., Ltd.

1963

Completed construction of a new factory in Ichikawa city and started manufacturing acetate ester.

 1963 Factory moved to Ichikawa City, Chiba Prefecture

1965

Established Chemical Transport Inc. and disbanded our chemical transport section. (Investment in capital:5 million yen, Hold 60% of shares, Reorganization to joint stock corporations in July 1967)

1971

Set up Tokyo Sales Office at Chuo-ku, Tokyo.
Relocated headquarters to Ichikawa city.
Constructed a tank terminal in Ichikawa city (400kl tank x 6, 650kl tank x 5) as Takahama Chemical Tank Termainal, and start liquid chemical warehousing operations.

1972

Got certification as bonded warehouse in the Takahama Chemical Tank Terminal from Finance Ministry.

1974

Established Orient Service Co., Ltd. in Ichikawa city, a wholly owned subsidiary, for the purpose of rendering material handling service in the Takahama Chemical Tank Terminal (capital: 40 million yen)

1975

Got a license for intermediate industrial waste disposer from Chiba Prefecture.

1981

Completed photosensitive material manufacturing facilities at the Ichikawa Factory.

1981 Production of photosensitive materials started at Ichikawa factory

1982

Set up Photosensitive Materials Research Center in Funabashi, Chiba.
Completed construction of three LPG storage tanks (capacity at 1,800kl x 3) at the Takahama Chemical Tank Terminal, and started LPG storage operations.

1983

Completed the sixth stage construction at the Takahama Chemical Tank Terminal (total capacity for liquid chemicals storage: 47,500kl)

1988

Established Chiba Toyo Gosei Co., Ltd. a wholly owned subsidiary in Tonosho-machi, Chiba, for purpose of manufacturing photosensitive materials.

1989

Completed a photosensitive material manufacturing plant, in Chiba Toyo Gosei Co., Ltd. (present Chiba Factory)

1989 Opening of current Chiba factory

1993

Orient Services Inc. was incorporated.

1994(May)

Received ISO 9002 certificate for photosensitive materials manufacturing section of the Ichikawa Factory.
Received ISO 9002 certificate for chemical products manufacturing section of the Ichikawa Factory.

1994-1996 Recieved of ISO9002 certification for
by Ichikawa factory, Chiba factory, and Takahama Chemical Tank Termainal

1995

Acquired 84,980 shares of Chemical Transport Inc. and hold 86.94% of shares.

1996

Chiba Toyo Gosei Co., Ltd and Tosei Sangyo Co., Ltd. were incorporated. Received ISO 9002 certificate for both Chiba Factory and Takahama Chemical Tank Terminal.
Completed a new research center in Chiba New Town and relocated the Photosensitive Materials Research Center to the new site.

1996 Research center moved to Chiba New Town

1998

Established TG Finetech Inc., a wholly owned foreign affiliate in Columbus, Ohio, USA. (Capital $400,000)

2000

Registration of OTC stocks with the Japan Securities Dealers Association (now JASDAQ)

2001

Completed the construction of the third photosensitive materials facility in the Chiba Factory

2002

Received ISO 14001 certificate for Ichikawa Factory.
Received ISO 9001 certificate for Chiba Factory.
Newly constructed food ingredients manufacturing facility

2002 Recieved ISO14001 certificate for Ichikawa factory

2003

Introduced a divisional system
Received ISO 9001 certificate for Takahama Chemical Tank Terminal.

2004

The 50th Anniversary.
Completed the construction of manufacturing facility for ionic liquid .
Published environmental report
Received ISO 9001 certificate for Ichikawa Factory.

2005

Toyo Gosei acquires a site for a factory in Awaji-City.
Move of headquarter to Nihonbashi, Chuo-ku, Tokyo.
