Launching the Division System
From the 54th term starting April of this year, Toyo Gosei is managed with a three-division system. Therefore, the products and services provided by Toyo Gosei are all supplied to customers from these three divisions.
- Photosensitive Materials Division Chiba factory gamma ray and infrared ray NQD esters, resin for KrF and ArF, water-soluble and other photosensitive materials
- Chemicals Division Ichikawa factory flavorings materials, solvent recovery, refining
- Distribution Division Distribution service for liquid petrochemicals of the Takahama Chemical Tank Terminal
Based on division system management, each division sets clear business goals and in order to attain these goals, the employees of the division work with the mission of attaining these business goals.
Of the strategic business units (SBUs) (photosensitive materials, chemicals, and distribution), those responsible for the Photosensitive Materials SBU unify three business units (BUs) - the Micro Business Unit, the Display Business Unit, and the Energy Business Unit. Those responsible for the Chemicals SBU have responsibility for operation of the three business units of the Flavorings Business Unit, the Green Chemical Business Unit, and the Precision Chemistry Business Unit. The Distribution SBU unifies the management of the Distribution Business Unit. The SBU Managers for each of the three departments refine plans with those responsible for each business unit.
The three functions of research, manufacture, and marketing are all divided among the seven business units. However, research and development alone is carried out by the Business Development Group, which is under the direct jurisdiction of headquarters and does not belong to any of the seven business units. It searches for business for the company's future and carries out research and development for that business.
The employees in each business unit work with a clear mission for attaining the business goals of each business unit, in other words to fulfill the mission.
Next year, Toyo Gosei will reach the 50th anniversary of its founding. Count on Toyo Gosei to be reborn in its 50th anniversary year.
* Photosensitive Materials Division
The Photosensitive Materials Division is operated dividing photosensitive materials into three business units by function.
1. Micro Business Unit
This department manufactures and sells photosensitive materials used in the IC resist market, the LCD resist market, and the next-generation material KrF and ArF market.
2. Energy Business Unit
This department manufactures and sells positive photoresist alkaline developing solution (TMAH) for semiconductors. Also, in the future electronics parts market, this department is providing the market with the fruits of its research and development in Class 4 ammonium products and ionic solution technology and is developing, manufacturing, and selling for such applications as lithium ion batteries and capacitors.
The above three business units manage planning and results evaluation, utilize their management resources appropriately, tackle issues, and enable the division to win out in product diversification and business activity diversification.
* Chemicals Division
The Chemicals Division will be made up of the following three business units.
1. Flavoring Materials Business Unit
The core technologies are separation and refining technology using precision distilling and synthesis technologies such as the dehydrogenation technology for making aldehydes from alcohol, oxidation technology for making fatty acids from aldehydes, and alcohol and fatty acid esterification technology. The flavoring materials that are produced using such technologies are exported to every region of the world, primarily to the world's major flavorings companies, and are highly regarded.
2. Green Chemicals Business Unit
The core technologies are separation and refining technology using precision distilling and dehydrogenation reactions and etherification reactions for converting alcohol to ethers. The main businesses of this business unit are the manufacture and sale of environmentally-friendly solvents and recycling by recovering and refining used solvents. For recovery and recycling, the main point is how to meet the desires of our customers.
3. Precision Chemicals Business Unit
This business unit produces the raw materials for the photosensitive materials produced by the Photosensitive Materials Division through the diazotization and oxidation of aromatic amino acid sulfonate derivatives and the inversion of sulfonate to sulfonyl chloride.
